1969 Dodge Dart Swinger 340

Basic information and History

The Dodge Dart Swinger is a rather unusual model which, in this version, is a full-fledged muscle car despite its size. This example also has a fantastic and well-documented history and is of course a matching numbers car.

The car was bought new by Sergeant Michael Michalski – U.S Marine Corps, who unfortunately never came home from the war in Vietnam and thus the car was left in a garage for 30 years. The meter reading today stands at 22,808 miles, which corresponds to approximately 3,700 Swedish miles, and there is no reason to question this. The car has since been taken out and carefully renovated to the fantastic condition it is in today. You can read more information about the renovation below! The car came to Sweden already in 2010 and has had 6 previous owners. It has been very well cared for and is in an incredibly fine and well maintained condition, without a doubt one of the very finest we have ever seen. The model offers both comfort, good space and not least very good performance and both feels and runs as if it were brand new! In addition to lots of documentation, there is also the original Car Production Broadcast sheet as well as the order from when the car was new and an original Operator’s manual.

Equipment and Options

In addition to the popular and recognized 340 engine, a Swinger also had Heavy Duty dampers & springs, dual exhaust system and Bumble Bee stripe, but this example is also equipped with the following options:

Condition

Exterior: The car gives an incredibly nice impression, the paint is of a very high standard and the chrome shines as if the car was delivered yesterday. The renovation has been carried out with the highest precision and quality, which is visible when you see the car up close. A high-quality paint job in the original Light Bronze Poly color has been carried out and it is painted everywhere exactly as it should be. There are a couple of minor marks in the paintwork but overall without a doubt a ten-pointer. There are no remarks on either glass, moldings or emblems. The original wheels are in top condition and the tires are brand new. Even the undercarriage is in exactly the same fine condition as the exterior. Please see the photos in the album and feel free to ask questions in the comment field!

Interior: The entire interior has been gone through and is either new or refurbished and in absolute top condition. Incredibly well maintained, clean and tidy. There are no notes on the interior apart from some very minor signs of use and all functions work as they should. A very pleasant environment to sit in simply. See the photos in the album for more info and feel free to ask questions in the comment field!

Mechanically: The car runs incredibly well mechanically, it shifts smoothly between gears, and there are no known leaks under the car. Brakes work great and the car has no known mechanical faults. Both engine (340 4-barrel) and box (TorqueFlite) are matching numbers, serviced and refurbished and also look like new in terms of appearance. Last service was performed July 2022 by Dahls Bil. There is no previous service record, but a lot of documentation. Brakes all around are in mint condition and there are no complaints on the drivetrain. Tax and inspection exempt. See the photos in the album for more info and feel free to ask questions in the comment field!
Summary

One of the finest Dodge Darts we have ever seen, which was also the reason why the seller bought the car in the first place. A car that runs great and is in a fantastically well restored condition. Just turn the key and enjoy the summer!
